Sustainability
Our Commitment
to the Earth
My illustrations come from nature. The ocean, the animals, the colours I find outside.
Drawing the world I love comes with a responsibility to protect it, so I make sure LeMerch leaves a lighter mark.
For the planet, and for my kids who will inherit it.That is why I work with small artisan workshops in Bali that share these values: slow production, fair wages, and a deep respect for natural materials.
An Honest Word
on Language
We choose not to call our pieces "100 percent organic." That term means the entire process, from farming to dyeing, is fully natural with no technical processing at all, usually using plant-based dyes.
Because our digital printing uses reactive inks, the honest and accurate way to describe our work is fabrics made from natural-source fibres, finished with safe, sustainable, and responsible printing. We would rather tell you the truth than sell you a word.
Our Materials
We choose natural and natural-source fibres for their beauty, their longevity, and their kindness to the earth.
Our scarves are made from TENCEL, a certified Lenzing fibre spun from wood pulp in a closed-loop process that recycles its own water and solvents, soft, breathable, and biodegradable.
Our apparel uses viscose from Asia Pacific Rayon, grown on renewable, sustainably managed plantations and made with systems that recycle chemicals to lower its impact. The airy EcoFion Lite and the elegant EcoFion Twill each bring softness and movement.
Our accessories use cotton canvas with a soft peach finish, with small details in goat leather, locally sourced in Bali and chosen to last.
All our fabrics are printed with reactive inks certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, safe and more responsible. We avoid harsh chemicals in processing, a more natural choice, start to finish.
Printing and Inks
Our illustrations are brought to life through digital printing, a technique that uses less water and fewer chemicals than many conventional printing methods. The inks we use are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, independently tested to be safe and more environmentally responsible. Printed onto our natural-source fabrics, this means the art you wear is gentle on your skin, on the artisans who make each piece, and on the water systems around our workshops in Bali.
Production
Every LeMerch piece is made in small batches. This means less waste, more intention, and a product that carries the hands and heart of the person who made it.And the little fabric we have left over does not go to waste. We turn our offcuts into something new, a pouch to hold your scarf, a scrunchie to match it, small pieces that would otherwise be thrown away given a second life.
Packaging
Every piece arrives wrapped with care, tucked into a reusable pouch or wrapped in our branded soft tissue paper. No excess plastic, no unnecessary fillers. Just your piece, ready to be loved.
